Spiced Ginger Tea

Try out this quick recipe to increase the intake of ginger in your diet.  Not only is it simple to make, it’s also delicious. Spiced Ginger Tea Recipe Ingredients: Serving: 2  Cook/prep time: 20 ~ 25 minutes.

  • Crushed Cardamon: 1/2 tsp

  • Indian Black Tea Leaves: 1 tbsp

  • Cinnamon Powder: 1/4 tsp

  • Fresh grated ginger: 1 tbsp

  • Water: 3 cups

  • Brown Sugar or honey (optional)

  • Milk (optional)



TIPS: Tip 1: For easy ginger peeling, use a metal spoon. Scrape the edge of the metal spoon against the ginger to peel off the skin.  Tip 2: No grater? Use a knife to finely chop and grate.

COOKING INSTRUCTIONS: Step 1: Boil 3 cups of water. Step 2: Add the black tea leaves, spices, and fresh grounded ginger into the fully boiled water.  Step 3: Switch to low heat and simmer for 5 to 8 minutes.  Step 4: Pour the herbal tea over a fine strainer to remove the tea leaves and spices. Step 5: Add brown sugar to taste. And for a more mellow taste, add milk (or your preferred milk substitute) to taste. Step 6: Enjoy. For people who does not enjoy the flavor of cinnamon or cardamon, feel free to take them out and use just grated ginger for the recipe.  We highly recommend drinking 1-2 cups in the morning. For best results, try to drink it hot or room temperature, daily. During summer, 1 cup would be sufficient. During winter or when you’re cold, having herbal ginger tea will really warm up the body, so multiple cups are welcomed. It is also very good for cold prevention.
